The Best Friends Day Odyssey, Part One of Four

This last Thursday kicked off an epic four days of hard core music, out of control partying, and a number of other hazardous activities. As I always try to do, I will let the photos do the talking.

A Yearbook Unlike Any Other

A few weeks ago I journeyed to New Orelans, home of my friend, rapper and producer, G-Eazy.  The reason for my trip (other than drinking incredible coffee) was to shoot album art for G’s latest release “The Endless Summer.”  You might remember the images I made for his album “The Outsider” from this post.

We wanted to do something different for his album, so I came up with the idea to make a sort of yearbook that featured girls representing songs on the album.  I would tell you which songs go to which girl, but that would ruin the fun!  Because the samples used in the production of the songs had a vintage feel, the yearbook took on a very similar vibe, mimicking yearbook photos and typography from the 50s. Be sure to check my cameo on page 7.

The design was done by the multi-talented G-Eazy (Gerald Gillum in the Credits).

Be sure to download the album and see the video single here.   I lent some of my grip skills to the video, directed by Tyler Yee (@tyleryee), who is great at what he does.

Big thanks to G (@G_Eazy) Devon (@DevTheGirl) and Matt (@2Mattyb) for having me down!

Portraits and a Church Service

I am working on a documentary.  One that I am not yet at liberty to talk about at length.  What I will say is that I will working on the cinematic side of things, while also doing still photos.  These are three portraits that I took during our most recent day of filming as well as a few images from a church service we filmed.

As things materialize with the documentary I will let you know.  Sorry to be so mysterious!

Finally!

It has taken far too long, but I think it was worth the wait. My new portfolio website is officially online!

The URL may not be as clever as this one, but I think it does the job.

Please take a moment to look through it, there’s a lot to see!

A Year in Six Pages

Well, here it is; the accumulation of nearly a year of shooting.

This assignment, shot for Vermont Quarterly, was a year long gig photographing my own life as a senior at the University of Vermont. I must admit, it was not an easy job. Having yourself as a subject may seem easy, but believe me, it is no small task. Photographing every day type stuff to try and make it interesting for an audience was frustrating at times, but was overall very eye opening. Seeing it all in print is as nostalgic as it is surreal.

Big thanks to Elise Whittmore-Hill (Art Director) for letting me have so much creative freedom, and Tom Weaver (Editor) for letting this happen and for writing such a flattering article.

Also, if you let me put a camera in your face in the last year or so, I really appreciate the patience!

For those of you who do not get Vermont Quarterly and would like to read the article, head over to the online version.

Shooting Album Art- At a Shooting Range

Happy Forth of July and happy belated birthday to me!

Here are some photos I shot last weekend with one of my favorite subjects, Myra Flynn.pixel.png?p=chrome&v=2.0.4.0&t=1288802160663&u=9187005&e=5540 She is a singer/songwriter who (for now) is based in Burlington, VT.

We were shooting at an impromptu gun range that you might remember from this previous post. The farmer who owns the farm was nice enough to let us shoot at will (so to speak). Myra is a real trooper who had no problem standing in mud in white, 4 inch heels. A feat to say the least.

Enjoy the photos and God Bless America!
