Shooting Album Art- At a Shooting Range

Happy Forth of July and happy belated birthday to me!

Here are some photos I shot last weekend with one of my favorite subjects, Myra Flynn.pixel.png?p=chrome&v=2.0.4.0&t=1288802160663&u=9187005&e=5540 She is a singer/songwriter who (for now) is based in Burlington, VT.

We were shooting at an impromptu gun range that you might remember from this previous post. The farmer who owns the farm was nice enough to let us shoot at will (so to speak). Myra is a real trooper who had no problem standing in mud in white, 4 inch heels. A feat to say the least.

Enjoy the photos and God Bless America!

In Rising Water

I met Zaire a few days before I had to move back to Northern Virginia. He is a rapper and will be releasing an album soon. He has had some trouble with the law and may have to do some time, but he has an awesome attitude and a bright future ahead of him. I really wanted to show his struggle, while also showing the potential I know he has.

The shots in the water were done on the Burlington waterfront. The park we were in was under two feet of water. I nearly froze my legs off getting the photos. The water could not have been much over 45 degrees.

The studio shots were done at Sound Loom Recording Studio, an incredible place very much under the radar. Jim has been recording his album there. From the tracks I heard, the album is going to be awesome.

Rough Francis, Punk in Burlington

Rough Francis is a Burlington band that is established locally, and has gained respect internationally. (Check out this NY Times article).

I was lucky enough to shoot their show last night, and they were kind enough to let me shoot portraits of them after the show.

Big thanks to Bobby (of the band) and JD (for helping me out)!

Super Secret Sugarbush Session

Went to Sugarbush today with the HG Ski crew for an end of season shoot. Sugarbush was nice enough to shuttle us their snowcat and provide plenty of beverages. Big thanks to Tony for all the support.

More after the jump

G-EAZY

While I was in New Orelans I was fortunate enough to hang out with G-Eazy (G for short).  He showed my friend and I around town and lit more than a few sketchy  bar-b-ques.  All in all a great host and as I found out later, a great musician.  We did a few portrait shots  just before I had to come back to VT.  The above is my favorite.  Below is the one he used for his single artwork.

Through the 2-way Mirror Glass

So this is a project I have been meaning to do for a while. The idea is to have people photographed through a two-way mirror. This means that they are able to seem themselves as they are getting their picture taken. In practice, this is a somewhat uncomfortable experience, but also somewhat telling.

In the images below, people are reacting to seeing themselves in the mirror.

Thanks so much to all the people that agreed to be in these images!

If you see yourself in these images, they are on facebook here.
